Brisbane GP & Travel Doctor, Dr Natasha Brown, Joins Better Medical in Queensland

Better Medical is pleased to welcome Dr Natasha Brown to both Brisbane GP & Travel Doctor and Shaw Road Medical Centre in Queensland.

Dr Brown’s interest in medicine came at a very young age, having been inspired when working on a school project about a doctor named Albert Schweitzer. Medicine was also a natural fit for Dr Brown as it combines her interest in health science and the opportunity to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

“I’m excited to join the teams at Brisbane GP & Travel Doctor and Shaw Road Medical Centre and to meet patients from the local communities. I’ve been met with a warm welcome, and it’s clear everyone is working together to deliver excellent patient care – and they’re enjoying doing so!” says Dr Brown.

As a keen traveller and scuba diver, Dr Brown has lived abroad in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. She has also travelled for work, including Cairns, Sydney, and Adelaide, as well as to remote locations such as Bamaga, a small town located near the northern tip of Cape York in the north of Queensland. It was here that Dr Brown also provided medical care to patients from the Torres Strait Islands.

“I’m passionate about providing an environment where patients feel comfortable talking about any aspect of their health, including conversations that people can find more difficult, such as sexual health. I enjoy Diabetes Management as I’m able to work together with the patient over a period time to achieve their goals, and I also enjoy travel medicine, not only for my love of travel but because there is a lot more to it than people usually consider,” says Dr Brown.

Dr Brown has completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and obtained Fellowship with The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2019. She looks forward to completing further studies in Skin Cancer Medicine and to extending this service to her patients.
