Whether you’re an experienced Aged Care GP or considering a dedicated transition into residential aged care, Better Medical offers a structured and supported model that allows you to focus on patient care while our experienced teams manage the administrative and operational requirements of the role.
As a VR Aged Care GP with Better Medical, you’ll provide comprehensive and coordinated medical care across a structured group of residential aged care facilities.
Your work may include regular scheduled visits, chronic disease management, medication review, acute illness management, preventive healthcare, dementia care, palliative care and end-of-life care. You’ll work closely with residents, families, nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists and facility teams to support high-quality, person-centred care.
The model is designed for GPs who enjoy building long-term therapeutic relationships, managing complex patients and providing continuity of care.
Better Medical’s Aged Care model is designed to remove many of the administrative and operational barriers associated with residential aged care.
Our dedicated Administration, Nursing and Management teams support the practical requirements of the role, including clinical documentation, billing, recalls and reminders, care planning, referrals, communication with facilities and families, vaccination processes and GP leave and cover arrangements.
This means you can spend more time focused on clinical decision-making, patient care and developing relationships with residents and their families, rather than managing the administrative workload that sits around aged care medicine.
The model also provides structured processes to support billing efficiency and continuity of care. Participating GPs may be eligible for the General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPACI), subject to eligibility and program requirements.
Residential aged care provides the opportunity to develop meaningful long-term relationships with patients while managing a broad range of clinical needs.
