Better Medical is pleased to announce Dr Kasandra Melville as its newest shareholder.

Dr Melville is a contracting GP at both Hahndorf and Strathalbyn Medical Centres, and when the opportunity to become a shareholder of Better Medical was presented, she jumped at the chance.

“I’ve been contracting at both clinics for three years and was starting to ask what the next step in my career was going to be,” Dr Melville said.

“Traditional practice ownership was always a goal of mine however, I was hesitant due to the amount of onerous business functions involved which would mean I wasn’t able to do what I enjoyed most, and that was being a doctor.

“I’m thrilled to have taken up the unique opportunity as a shareholder as I’ve achieved my ‘what’s next’ goal and am now part of something much bigger. I can also be involved in the business side of things as much, or as little, as I desire.”

One of the key reasons that Dr Melville decided to become a shareholder was the support given to her along with sharing the same vision and goals.

Dr Melville said she will now focus her efforts on lifting the profile of Hahndorf Medical Centre along with increasing its engagement in the community.
